Illustration+Design

Through illustration, I attempt to capture delicate, beautiful, and personal moments in life along with visually navigate the female experience as a queer woman of color. My work illustrates the trials and tribulations of exploring one’s identity in an attempt to define it in a world in which female, queer, black, and brown bodies are often politicized and disregarded.

I employ specifically chosen color, stylized portraiture, references to classical iconography, and visual realism to create various representations of myself. Furthermore, the incorporation of these elements emphasize the intensity, complexity, and fragility of life, mental health, self-perception, one’s environment, and the relationship between serenity and harsh realities.
