A majority of my work constitutes portraits of those who are closest to me. In every portrait I capture and represent the identity of my subject, the nature of their personality, and show great care and attention to their characteristics. By sitting with the subjects of my portraits for the lengthy time it takes to render their image, I feel I get to know the person all over again in a new way. Through my meditative and detail-oriented process, I studied my subjects facial features, the light in their eyes, their smiles, and I discover something more about them by the time the portrait is finished.
