Narrative is the driving force in my work. The pieces I create function as a snapshot of a story. These stories exist outside of the pieces I create and their edges reach much farther than the confines of the piece’s border. In this way, I endeavor to show only select moments, places, people, or elements of a larger narrative and invite the viewer to fill in the blanks as they will. Although I always have a story in mind when I create a piece, I avoid being overly literal in its telling. Narrative is inherently personal and I hope no two viewers of my work come away with identical stories.
