I create scenes involving nature and emotion by using the human form as a tool for visual storytelling. My work provides viewers a deeper look into the mind of the artist and what it means to be a creative. Growing up on a rural goat farm, I often overlooked elements of nature which were so common in my visual environment, such as exoskeletons and deceased organic materials. Collections of ecological findings, such as dried plant matter and delicate insects, pair with fragments of figurative works to address the fragility within both nature and ourselves. Forgotten bearings of the earth are highlighted in my paintings and drawings, touching on what it means to be human.
