Stories are like music in that they convey something about people. All my life, books, music, and art have lit a fire under my heart for beauty (and a good laugh). Even as my work spans physical reality—from the streets of Orvieto and Rome to the muggy earth of a childhood cottage—it also depicts my inner adventurous spirit and desire to glorify the God behind it all. Sacrifice and redemption, I have found, are not opposed to wonder and silliness. Rather, they work together in concert. I believe in art’s capacity to illustrate beautiful mess that is a life lived out of joy and center my practice around this faith.
