Illustration+Design

As part of my artistic process, I like to experiment with different applications of techniques and the possibilities they allow. My approach ranges from simply straightforward and aesthetically pleasing to touching on uncomfortable, difficult issues. I am fascinated by geometric shapes, colors, structure, and simplicity. I enjoy creating large format prints because it feels like one can get lost in the artwork. I use precise details in my work to prompt viewers to discover the minute colors and details that could be missed if one doesn’t stick one’s face as close as possible to the work before being asked to step back.

I am inspired by my favorite artist, Andy Warhol, because he did not work with a single type of media. I believe as an artist and a student, it is valuable to explore different styles, subjects, and techniques outside of one’s comfort zone in order to grow and improve.
