As a quiet person who struggles to have a presence in a large room, my artwork has become a way for me to express my emotions and opinions non-verbally. Creating has allowed me to cope with hardships within my personal life and depict the beautiful parts of life that I sometimes ignore. Through my art, I also want to spread awareness of societal problems greater than myself, including themes of race, unrealistic body expectations, and obsession with social media. Overall, I have found that my voice is much louder and more understood when it is presented through a painting or drawing rather than from my mouth.
