As both a nanny and an artist, I see how much kids blow my mind. They can use their imagination to escape into their own worlds to sort through the chaos around them in their own way. Stressful or complex situations can be difficult for kids. To process these experiences, they frequently turn to what they do best; playing, to comprehend or accept. My interest in the child psyche has led me to explore these childhood processes of growth and understanding and explore important relationships between child and caretaker or, more specifically, my mother and mine. My work explores childhood experiences in the present and, more personally, how childhood relationships shaped adulthood.
